Dua(Supplication) The Tool For Asking What You Want.....

Trials, tribulations and challenges are part of every person’s life. However, to counter that, Allah has provided us a very powerful tool – and that is the tool of du’a or asking Allah for help and his mercy when we need it. And we need it all the time…

However, to understand trials and tribulations that we face in our daily lives, we also need to understand the topic of "Sins" and how our sins may be related to our trials and tribulations.

The better we understand the ghastly nature of our sins, and the rate at which we accumulate them, along with their undesirable impact on our daily lives and the hereafter, the more it can propel us away from committing sins in general and the more it will drive us to seek forgiveness for our sins – through making the right Dua’s for us and for others.

Ibn Qayyim provided one of the great descriptions of sins and the impact of sins in this life and after. Here is a very short summary of what he compiled about how our sins impact our lives. [islam-qa.com]

  • Sins deprive a person of provision (rizq) in this life. In Musnad Ahmad it is narrated that Thawbaan said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said: ‘A man is deprived of provision because of the sins that he commits.’” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 4022, classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah).
  • A sinful person experiences a sense of alienation (indifference) with his Lord, and between him and other people. One of the salaf had said that he could see the impact of disobedience to Allah (in some aspects of his daily life).
  • A person who commits sins sees that things become difficult for him. In any matter that he turns to, he finds the way blocked or he finds it difficult. By the same token, for the one who fears Allah, things are made easy for him.
  • ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: “Good deeds make the face light, give light to the heart, and bring about ample provision, physical strength and love in people’s hearts. Bad deeds make the face dark, give darkness to the heart, and bring about physical weakness, a lack of provision and hatred in people’s hearts.”
  • Sin breeds sin until it dominates a person and he cannot escape from it. Sin weakens a person’s willpower. It gradually strengthens his will to commit sin and weakens his will to repent until there is no will in his heart to repent at all… so he seeks forgiveness and expresses repentance, but it is merely words on the lips, like the repentance of the liars, whose hearts are still determined to commit sin and persist in it. This is one of the most serious diseases that is likely to lead to doom. He becomes desensitized and no longer find sins abhorrent, so it becomes his habit, and he is not bothered if people see him committing the sin or talk about him.

So, we can easily see that by engaging in sins, we are not only making the prospects of our after life (integral part of Islamic faith) bleak but sins can greatly and actively contribute to the difficulties of our daily lives.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself…” [al-Nisa’ 4:79]

Whether we encounter challenges in earning a living, in our family affairs, or other matters of life, the burden of sins greatly inhibits us from seeking the ultimate blessings of Allah and to have the potential of leading a good life in this world and the hereafter.

As for making Dua and the enormous potential it holds to help us ask for forgiveness and other things, the following provides a short description.

The following are some of the prophet’s sayings about making Dua to Allah.

Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The dua’ of any one of you will be answered so long as he does not seek to hasten it, and does not say, ‘I made dua’ but I had no answer.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5865; Muslim, 2735, from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah).

In the hadeeth which was narrated by al-Tirmidhi from Abu Hurayrah, who said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘There is no man who prays to Allah and makes dua’ to Him, and does not receive a response. Either it will be hastened for him in this world, or it will be stored up for him in the Hereafter, so long as he does not pray for something sinful, or to cut the ties of kinship, or seek a speedy response.’ They said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what does seeking a speedy response mean?’ He said, ‘Saying, “I prayed to my Lord and He did not answer me.”’” (Al-Tirmidhi, 3859; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 852).

Some people follow practices that are not sanctioned by the Quran or Hadith such as repeating some of Allah’s names a few times. A number of scholars have said that “The words mentioned in the question are phrases that are narrated in the Qur’aan and Sunnah, but saying that they must be repeated [so many] number of times is an innovated matter which should not be followed. Rather we should mention them during our dua’s and address Allah by all His beautiful names, without singling out some names or stating that they should be recited a certain number of times or at certain times, making that up ourselves. We should adhere to what was narrated in sharee’ah concerning certain times, places or situations connected to a particular dua’; if no such details were narrated in sharee’ah then we should not make them up ourselves because that is encroaching upon the rights of Prophethood.

In the hadeeth it says: “One of you may be answered so long as he is not hasty and says, ‘I said dua’ but I got no response.’” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6340; Muslim, 2735.

In Saheeh Muslim (2736) it says: “A man’s (dua’s) may be answered so long as it does not involve sin or severing the ties of kinship or hastening.” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, what does hastening mean?” He said: “When he says, ‘I made dua’ and I made dua’ but I did not see any response,’ so he gets discouraged and stops making dua’.”

The dua’ should not involve sin or severing of the ties of kinship, as stated in the hadeeth quoted above: “A man’s (dua’s) may be answered so long as he does not involve sin or severing the ties of kinship …”

According to the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah: “Make dua’ to Allah when you are certain of a response.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 245.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Know that Allah does not answer a dua from a distracted heart.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3479; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 245.

In the hadeeth it says: [The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)] mentioned the man who undertakes a lengthy journey and is disheveled and covered with dust, and he stretches his hands towards heaven saying, ‘O Lord, O Lord,’ when his food is haraam, his drink is haraam, his clothes are haraam. He is nourished with haraam, so how can he be granted a response?

Two Ways of Knowing Our Creator

In his book Al-Fawaid, Ibn-Qayyim mentions two ways of knowing Allah. The first is by observing His creation –

Allah says in the Quran –

Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, and the ships which sail through the sea with that which is of use to mankind, and the water (rain) which Allah sends down from the sky and makes the earth alive therewith after its death, and the moving (living) creatures of all kinds that He has scattered therein, and in the veering of winds and clouds which are held between the sky and the earth, are indeed Ayat (proofs, evidences, signs, etc.) for people of understanding. [Quran – Al-Baqara 2:164]

The Quran also states:

Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): “Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire. [Quran – Al-Ímran 3:190]

The second way of knowing Allah is to ponder over the verses of the Quran. The Quran states:

(This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember. [Quran – Saad 38:29]

The question then is that how much time do you spend in knowing Allah? When observing his creation, do you recognize the power that created this creation and holds it together? Do you recognize who controls your affairs? Do you spend enough time reading Quran? More than that do you then spend time pondering over the verses of Quran? Or has Quran and pondering over its verses become something that is not very high on your priority list and planned for some general day in the future? When is that day going to come? Do you care?

Generally, the common trap that people fall into is to prioritize wrongly in life and accordingly suffer the appropriate consequences. If Quran does not fit in the right order of your priorities because other life matters related to your families, your pursuits of earning a provision, and other aspects of your life seem more important, think again – Who do you think has more control on the affairs of your life?

It is time to straighten our priorities.

The Last Sermon Of Prophet Muhammad(Farewell Sermon)

Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) delivered his last sermon (Khutbah) on the ninth of Dhul Hijjah (12th and last month of the Islamic year), 10 years after Hijrah (migration from Makkah to Madinah) in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat. His words were quite clear and concise and were directed to the entire humanity.

After praising, and thanking Allah he said:

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn ‘Abd’al Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people".

(Reference: See Al-Bukhari, Hadith 1623, 1626, 6361) Sahih of Imam Muslim also refers to this sermon in Hadith number 98. Imam al-Tirmidhi has mentioned this sermon in Hadith nos. 1628, 2046, 2085. Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal has given us the longest and perhaps the most complete version of this sermon in his Masnud, Hadith no. 19774.)

…

One can heed words of wisdom and guidelines from the last sermon (khutbah) of the prophet (SAWS). His sermons emphasized on the following:

* Sacredness of a Muslim’s life and property
* The importance of propagating this message to all others (A Muslim’s responsibility thus does not end by following the religion)
* A reminder that everyone is fully accountable for their deeds and Allah (God) will take every person into account. If everyone heeded to this fact alone, the world would be a much better place today.
* “Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.” These words of the prophet are self explanatory.
* The prohibition of dealing with interest (Numerous accounts in Quran and Hadith prohibit taking, giving or being a part of any transaction dealing with interest).
* “You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.” These words of the prophet are self explanatory.
* The awareness of satan and how satan can work to deviate us from the right path and doing evil things.
* Rights of women over men and rights of men over women.
* Treatment of women with kindness.
* Modesty and chastity in women.
* The importance of worshiping Allah (saying your five daily prayers (Salah), fasting during the month of Ramadan, giving charity (Zakat) and performing pilgrimage (Hajj).
* Equality amongst all (blacks, white, Arabs, non-Arabs, etc.)
* The need to establish justice.
* Islam is the final divine religion (Last prophet and Last Book).

Should Christian Be Discouraged From Using The Term "Allah"?

The Malaysian cabinet and government declared that Malaysian Christians could no longer use the word “Allah”. Their rationale was based on the concern that the use of the word “Allah” by Christians in their religious messages could confuse some Muslims and hence could draw them toward Christianity. It seems that the ban in Malaysia was placed 20 years ago but was never enforced until a few days ago. Malay Christian argue that the word "Allah" predates the time of Prophet Muhammad and thus predates Islam. They also contend that Christian who predated Islam used the word "Allah' to refer to "God".

In many regards, their argument is valid and factually correct. Both Arab Christians as well as other non-Christian Arabs actively used the term “Allah” as part of their religious beliefs and practices.

The most common example is that of Prophet Muhammad’s father who was named “Abd Allah” in the period before the dawn of Islam.

In another example, during the signing of the peace treaty of Hudaybiya in the prophet’s time, Suhail bin Amr was sent as the Makkan envoy representing the Quraysh in Makkah and Arabs. During the negotiations, dictating to Ali, the Prophet said: “Write, In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Beneficent.” Suhail objected by saying, “Do not write this. Instead, write, ‘In Thy name O Allah.‘” The Prophet in turn complied with his demand.

allah

This is because the words “the Most Merciful” (“Rahman” in Arabic), and “the Most Beneficent” (“Raheem” in Arabic) were revealed in Quran – something non-Muslim Arabs did not recognize at the time.

Furthermore, there seems to be no proof that the Prophet forbade anyone (Christians, Jews, Pagans, etc.) from using the term “Allah”.

Regarding Christians, Allah says in the Quran:

“Surely, disbelievers are those who said: “Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity).” But there is no ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God -Allah)………(Quran: Al-Maeda, Chapter 5: 73)

In line with the beliefs of Trinity, Arab Christians today use the terms “Allah al-ab” meaning God the father, “Allah al-ibn” meaning God the son, and “Allah al-ruh al koudous” meaning God the Holy Spirit. The Arabic Bible also uses the word “Allah” in its text.

Question Mark

Here lies the dilemma: A number of Christian groups believe that the Muslims’ God is not the same as the “Christian God”.

A discussion with an interfaith session where evangelical Christian leaders of a Church made it very clear that they did not believe that the God they believed in is the same as the Muslim God or “Allah”. On the contrary, in the same meeting the Muslim attendees made it clear that they believed that our God is the same – rather it’s how Christians attribute Eesa (Jesus) as son of God and other such beliefs that make the two religions different.

One of the evangelical Christian sites reflects the above attitudes when it states:

“The crux of the matter is what definition one gives to the word God in any language. That is, what are the theological ideas that someone has when they refer to God? The theology of the Arab Christian who uses the word Allah is completely different from the theology of the Muslim who also uses the word Allah.”

Some of the non-Arab evangelical Christians (I can’t say if it is all denominations of that group) assert that the Arab Christians using “Allah” is no more significant than Muslims using the word “God” when they speak in English. One of the Christian sites states:

“it could be said that Christians worship Allah, whose son is Jesus; and Muslims worship God, whose prophet is Mohammed.”

Another case in point. While Arab Christians freely use the word “Allah”, other versions of Bible do not use that word in their texts. For example, the English bible does not use the term “Allah”. The Persian bible uses the word “Khuda” in their texts. However, Malaysians in the case cited earlier may be an exception to that rule as they have insisted on the use of the word “Allah”.

This leads one to believe that Arabs using the word “Allah” is more of a linguistic issue than one based on theology. Many blasphemous statements by many Christians (especially by non-Arab Christians) over the past few years using the word “Allah” clearly demonstrates that their use of the word “Allah” is only linguistic – not the same case as Muslims who treat the word “Allah” with great respect for obvious reasons – the term “Allah” is used in the Quran – Arabic or otherwise.

Coming back to the Malaysian case, the latest update is that the Malaysian authorities have reversed their ruling. So, at least for now, Malaysian Christians can start using the word “Allah” again in their religious practices.

This discussion is far from complete and does require the input of both Muslim and Christian scholars. Some of the questions that come to mind are as follows:

Allah

  • Are there contrary proofs to the fact that Prophet Muhammad did not object to non-Muslims (especially Christians) using the word “Allah” (although it seems from the above that he never objected to it)?
  • What specific reasons do Christians have for believing that the “Muslim God” is not the same as theirs?
  • Why was the term “Allah” left out in subsequent Bible translations?
  • What do Jews (Arab and others) believe about the term “Allah” and its use? Apparently, Arab Jews lived in Madinah at the time of Prophet Muhammad. How did they refer to “God” at that time?

Friends

I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant. I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging. Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ... I will.I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set. They, too, will get old. I know I am sometimes forgetful.
But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things. Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers,or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.
I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face.So many have never laughed, and so many have died before theirhair could turn silver. As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore.I've even earned the right to be wrong. So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day(if I feel like it).
MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART!

The Story of the Prophet and the Jew Beggar

This is one of my favourite story about Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) because it gave me strength to be kind to those who is unkind to me. This is a very beautiful true story.
In the corner of the marketplace of Madinah, was a blind Jewish beggar, who would cry out daily to all those who came near him," O my brothers, don't be near Muhammad! He's a lunatic, he's a liar, a sorcerer! If you are to be close to him, you will be influenced by him!" No matter whoever approached him, the blind Jewish beggar will definitely not waste his chance to incite them to hate the Prophet Muhammad, Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam (peace be upon him)! All kinds of curses would spew forth from the beggar's lips even though he had never known the Prophet personally! The news about the blind Jewish beggar's daily cursing and badmouthing him came to the knowledge of the Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam! Even then, the Holy Prophet Muhammad did not get angry and he ignored the blind Jewish beggar's insults against himself! On the contrary, from that day onwards, at each morning, the Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam visited the blind beggar and brought food for him! Without saying a single word, the Blessed Messenger(peace be upon him) would feed the beggar with his own hand! The blind beggar would chew the food being fed to him and eat contentedly. Once he was full, he'd express his gratitude without knowing that the one who had fed him was the Holy Prophet of Allah, Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam! The Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam continued to feed the blind beggar without fail each day till the day he died! Throughout his service to the blind beggar, he never identified himself to the blind Jewish beggar! After the Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam had passed away, no one brought food to the blind beggar anymore! The blind Jewish beggar waited daily and was perplexed as to why the kind man did no longer come to feed him and provide for him as he had done all this while. The blind beggar waited in vain for the kind gentleman who had never missed visiting him each and every morning all these while .
One day, the closest Companion of the Holy Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam, Saiyidina Abu Bakar As Siddiq @ The Truthful One, Radhiallahu Anhu (May Allah be pleased with him) visited the home of his daughter, Saiyidatina Aishah, Radhiallahu Anha (May Allah be pleased with her), the widow of the Blessed Messenger (SAW). Abu Bakar asked Aishah, " O my child, is there any habit of my beloved (Prophet) that I have yet to carry on?" Aisyah replied, " Dear Father, you are verily a follower of the Sunnah (Habits) of the Prophet and there is none that you have yet to do except for one deed only!" " What is that?" asked Abu Bakar. "Every morning, the Prophet of Allah will go to the end of the marketplace, bringing food to a blind old Jewish beggar who lives there and feed him by his hand," said Aishah. The next day, Abu Bakar As Siddiq went to the marketplace with food for the blind beggar. Abu Bakar As Siddiq approached the beggar and started to feed him. At the first handfull of food being fed to him, the blind Jewish beggar became angry and shouted out ," Who are you?" Abu Bakar answered " I am the one who usually feeds you every morning". "No! Don't you lie to me!" objected the blind beggar. Abu Bakar was shocked, thus he asked" Why do you say so?" Answered the blind Jewish beggar," Because when he comes to me, I always felt it easy to hold his hand and found it easy to chew the food he fed me! The man who used to feed me would make the food fine before feeding it to me!" Abu Bakar As Siddiq could not hold back his tears anymore and he burst out crying and had to disclose who he actually was to the beggar. "Verily, I am not the one who used to come and feed you. I am one of his Companions for the noble one is alive no more! He was none other than the Blessed Prophet of Allah, Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam!" "Muhammad?" asked the blind old Jewish beggar, totally shocked with what he had just heard. "You mean to tell me that the one who came each morning without fail and fed me by his hand was Muhammad?" asked the beggar. "Yes! It was Muhammad!" answered Abu Bakar. Immediately, the blind old Jewish beggar wailed out in despair and cried so pitifully coming to realise that it was none other than the Holy Prophet who had been feeding him all this while. "All these while!...all these while, I had been cursing him, I had been slandering him! Not once has he ever scolded me ! He kept coming every morning to feed me! He is so noble!.." cried the old blind Jewish beggar as he wiped away his flowing tears on his cheeks. The blind beggar reached out to Saiyidina Abu Bakar As Siddiq, the first Caliph of the Muslims and testified before him the Kalimah Shahadah :'Ash har doo Allah ila ha ill lall Lah! Wa ash har doo anna Muhammad darr Rasulullah!' declaring that There is No God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah! From that moment onwards, the blind old Jewish beggar became a Muslim.

This Could Be The Start of Something Big

When things go bad, never be depressed. Dark clouds are always temporary, it might either rain after that or the wind will blow it away. Guess whats next? Yup! Either it will be a bright sunny day or u will catch the sight of a beautiful colourful rainbow. So never be despaired over things that bring you down.
Just like what it said in one of the journal below..THE BEST WAY TO KILL YOUR ENEMY IS WITH KINDNESS. Why? Because you have nothing to lose. The past few months, I have people saying things so bad about me on FB, emails. But I chose to ignore and let it be. Result was....IM STILL THE HAPPY PERSON and I realised that Im not the victim here but those people are. Victim of their own doing. The comment I received from others..."Ellie what is wrong with this person? Your existence must be driving people NUTS & CRAZY".. My only reply is always SILENCE and SMILE.
Because Allah has replaced all these "suppose to be a let down demotivating thingy" with something wonderful. Just like the song by Bobby Darin- This Could Be A Start of Something Big. He sent me a wonderful guy whom soon going to be my husband, He gave me more "rezeki" in my Chocolate Chip Muffin business, my work is getting better at the office, my son has no more asthma attack, my cancer is recovering...what more can I ask Him .Can never thank Him enough for the joy He gave me when others are trying hard to bring me down.
Yesterday I gave a suggestions to my whole Marketing Team and my CEO was so happy with the suggestions, and today I received an email from my Big Boss and the email simply brightened up my day at work.
The first time, I replied to his first email for complimenting on my idea, "thank you sir for believing in me and that i will help the marketing the best way I can. And this was his reply that really lifted me up:
Elina,
Believing in you?..I believe you when I first saw you and interviewed you to join us, remember? Lets go do things that would make a change......

It might be a short email but that email, when it comes from my Big Boss...it really means a lot to me. It makes me want to work harder for the company. When you make someone's day(or moment) through a small kindness or unforgettable engagement, you can turn even routine encounters into a special memories.
So lastly, when you look for the worst you will find it everywhere. When you learn you have the power to choose your response to what life brings, you can look for the best and find opportunities you never imagine possible. If you find yourself with an attitude that is not what you want it to be, you can choose a new one.
So to the followers of my journal, ENJOY LIFE, LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE MISERY...we never know when we kick the bucket...have a pleasant day. Cheers!

How To Treat Your Enemy

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Probably it's the jealousy....

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The Malay Proverb..I think sounds something like this "Mulut Tempayan boleh tutup tapi mulut orang kita tak boleh tutup"....well its true actually. So don't be depressed if some uneducated people just can't stop spreading rumours about us. I have experienced this things too. But I chose to remain silent. And the result to this silence, everyone see those people who spread rumours and talked bad things about me as a bunch of crazy and stupid fool. And as I was browsing for some nice quotes on the net , i found this particular wordings that make me realised why people sometimes make a fool of themselves without realizing it....
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

PEOPLE WHO ARE JEALOUS OF YOU ARE INSECURE INDIVIDUALS WHO LACK OF MANY THINGS AND SUCK AT LIFE. YOU CAN ONLY PRAY FOR PEOPLE LIKE THAT HOPING THAT THEY DON'T FALL TOO HARD. THEY ARE DYING T KNOW YOUR NEXT MOVE. YOUR EVERY MOVE, THEY SECRETLY LIVE THEIR LIFE THROUGH YOU. WHEN THEY SHOP THEY THINK OF THE HOT SHIT THEY SAW YOU IN AND WHEN THEY TALKED TO THEIR FRIENDS, THEY USE YOUR PHRASES AND TALK ABOUT YOU. THEY BADLY WANT A CHANCE TO BREATHE THE SAME AIR YOU BREATH AND TASTE THE SAME FOOD.
THEY DONT KNOW HOW YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO BE SO CLASSY, TALENTED & SUSTAIN PERSONALITY FOR DAYS SO THEY HAVE TO MAKE UP RUMOURS ABOUT YOU TO HELP THEIR EGO AND KILL TIME UNTIL THEY FIND YOUR NEXT MOVE. THEY WONDER IF YOU EVEN THINK OF THEM AT TIMES. CAN SOMEONE DIES OF JEALOUSY??? YES AND HOPEFULLY THEY DIE THINKING OF YOU.....

A SONG WRITTEN BY MY LIL ANGEL SARAH

OH UMI..OH UMI..I LOVE YOU, OH UMI OH UMI, U MAKE MY WISH COME TRUE. oH UMI, OH UMI I MISS U SO MUCH. I LOVE U SO MUCH. I MISS YOU SO MUCH. OH UMI OH UMI YOU WEAR COLOURFUL CLOTHES, OH UMI OH UMI YOUR EYES SPARKLE LIKE STARS. I LOVE U SO MUCH

Holding On to Hatred....

Holding back anger is a poison. It eats you from inside. We think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us. But hatred is a curved blade. The harm we do, we do to ourselves.
That's because no one is born with anger. And when we die, our soul is freed from it. FORGIVE...FORGIVE.....

A Note To God

Friends & client asked me what did i do on New Years Eve? My reply was, "I don't celebrate new year because my new year was on December 18 2009. And besides whats the purpose of celebrating because on Monday the 1st January 2010, i will still see those grumpy faces, people still talk bad about others, there are some who even cut the thing called "Sillaturahim" amongst the Muslim's brothers and sisters and when I wake up on the 1st January 2010..the bone cancer I have will still be there. There is still WAR that's going on in another part of this world...so what are we celebrating?"
If only people can stop hating each other...the world will be so peaceful but then again Iblis made a pledge that he will make sure mankind will go astray. Only those who truly believe in Allah will not go astray and will do their very best to cleanse their heart from hatred and anger.
If I wrote a note to God
I would speak what's in my soul
I'd ask for all the hate to be swept away
For love to overflow

If I wrote a note to God
I'd pour my heart out on each page
I'd ask for war to end
and for peace to mend this world
I'd say
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love, cause love is overdue
And it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we're on
If I wrote a note to God
I'd say please help us find a way
End all the bitterness, put some tenderness
in our hearts
I'd say
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love, cause love is overdue
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help from you
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we're on
No
We can't do it on our own
So
(Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love, cause love is overdue)
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help
Grant us the faith to carry on
Hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we're on

BUMPED!

I woke up at 6am this morning for my Subuh Prayer feeling kinda sleepy. I didn’t really have a goodnight sleep last night. I don’t know why I kept hearing knocking on my door every time I fell into my sleep. When I got up to open the door, there wasn’t anyone. Probably my subconscious mind was playing tricks or telling me not to sleep yet. LOL!

After my subuh prayer, I couldn’t go back to sleep. Besides at 7.45am I needed to get myself ready to go to work. Yes it’s Sunday but every Sunday I have to work now since I am handling SMS for the talk show on RTM1, APA KATA WANITA. Was feeling melancholic and suddenly the thought about death came to my mind. Probably the past few days I had been reading this book TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE and it really got into me. And also the cancer made me think about death more often now.

Lying down on my bed, looking at the dark sky with a little bit of orangey, my mind wondered if when the time comes for the Angel of Death to take my soul, how will he look like? Will he come in the form of an Angel with the wings or will he look scary (for the bad soul) or will he look like a handsome man? And my mind got into deeper thoughts about death.

My chest started to feel tight when I thought of the day when my time is up, where no one will see him except me alone. That’s the time I can never tell him to wait because it has been fixed on the day the soul of individual was blown into the mother’s womb. Not a second early and not a second later. I continued looking at the dark sky and wondered, after the Angel of Death has taken my soul out of my body, he will bring it up to all level of the skies where he will knock on every door of the sky with a Salam. I wonder if my soul will be greeted with a warm SALAM or rejected.

I read a book called ALAM BARZAKH where it said if the soul is not welcomed by all the Angels, then u know your soul will be in trouble. The Angel will then throw back the bad soul into the grave where the 2 Angels will come and start the Q & A. Then my chest got really tight and so I decided to sit on my bed to ease my breathing and asked Allah to guide me through out my life here on this earth. I couldn’t go on with the thoughts about death anymore. Pulled my towel and took my shower to get ready to go to RTM.

On the way to RTM, my mind was still wandering……

DEJAVU

DÉJÀ VU

When the first time Qel sent me “request for friend”, I said to myself, “I think I know him from somewhere but I just don’t know where and when”. The thing is that, it’s like I’ve met him before. Then on the 13th November Nini and I went up north for our vacation, he picked us up and told me that his dad would love to have us staying at their place and so we stayed at his place the day we arrived and that was the first time I met him in person. The first day I was there, that particular moment where Nini and I woke up and we sat outside with baba, fahmi and Qel, suddenly this 20+years old boy who’s mentally challenged I would say came to the house to buy some snacks and drink.. I’ve seen that moment and I knew he was gonna come again the second time which he did and the whole conversation is so familiar.

I kept telling Nini that I saw that exact moment before, the whole particular moment plus the whole conversation. So Nini told me probably it’s what they called DÉJÀ VU. I tried to just ignore it and let that thought just passed by. Then yesterday, my son Ridhwan asked me, “Umi when can we go to Uncle Qel’s place again?” Ridhwan is a boy who doesn’t easily like a person. What more having to stay at stranger’s place? So is Sarah. And for him to ask that question was absurd. So I asked him if he really like Qel’s place and they both answered at the same time with full of excitement… “YES UMI, We love it..” and Ridhwan continued saying that he doesn’t like staying at places like KL or Subang.

I asked him again if he likes staying at his grandma’s place at Malacca which is also sort of “kampong” and he said NOPE. That really puzzled me because I thought it’s the kampong ambiance that they like. And today he was lying down on my tummy; suddenly he got up and again asked me the same question?

I sat next to him and this time I asked him what exactly made him really want to go back to Qel’s place? His answer really gave me a shock. He said he dreamt of Qel’s house many times before and it’s the exact house. Not just any house but that particular house and he said he felt like he has met Qel before too. On top of that, he said “Uncle Qel is nice and funny”. Wokayyyyy…that’s creepy...MOTHER SON has the same DÉJÀ VU…eeeooouuuucchhh!!!

Whatever it is, I think its Allah’s way of telling me he is the one. Because I have always told Allah that, if He is going to open my heart to any guy, OPEN TO WHOM HE KNOWS BEST FOR ME, otherwise close it permanently.

I guess DEJAVU or NO DEJAVU, I leave it up to the ONE up there. He knows what’s best

I Finally Got The Book....YAY!!

Yesterday, Nini's daughter called me from Bangsar Shopping Complex. She told me that she found the book that I wanted so badly to own...."Tuesdays with Morrie". The book was recommended to me by my ex-GM when he found out about my cancer. We were in the car on the way back from visiting a friend who lost her husband when I told him about this book I read titled "My sister's keeper".
"My sister's keeper" was about Sara and Brian live on an idyllic life with their son and daughter. But their family is rocked by sudden, heartbreaking news that forces them to make a difficult and unorthodox choice in order to save their baby girl's life. Their parents' desperate decision raises both ethical and moral questions and rips away at the foundation of their relationship. Their actions ultimately set off a court case that threaten to tear the family apart, while revealing surprising truths that challenge everyone's perception of love and loyalty and give a new meaning to the definition of healing.
Then my GM told me, if i like that kind of story, then I should try reading this book titled "Tuesday with Morrie". "ITS A MUST HAVE". I have been looking for the book at MPH for weeks. Went to couple MPH and it wasn't available until Juria(Nini's daughter) went to TIMES Bookstore at Bangsar Shopping Complex yesterday. She called me last night and asked if I still want the book. I told her..yes!yes! yes please. She got me the book as a present from her and her boyfriend Matthew.
A wise and loving that teaches us those things we ought to know already but have somehow forgotten. A wonderfully honest exchange between a terminally ill professor and his successful student. They both gave and both received a wonderful gifts of love and friendship.

2nd Radiation Day 1

Couldn't sleep last nite till this morning at 4.30am. Was supposed to take the kids for McD breakfast at 6am but I overslept till my alarm clock woke me up at 7.15am. Got myself ready to go to the hospital. Since this would be my 2nd time, I knew what to expect and the fear wasn't there anymore. Hospital is like my 2nd home now. Last night i received dozens of well wishes from my bosses(including my new CEO), my MAS batch girls and not forgetting my schoolmates MGS'87. Since I got back from Kulim, today was my first day of getting stuck in a traffic jam. One week at Kulim, no matter at what hour, there wasn't any traffic jam.
I only look at my phone after the treatment and saw one SMS from Qel which he sent at 8.23am and I only replied in the afternoon. I was touched when he said he actually fasted today just because I had my first day treatment and he couldn't be here and hoping the Almighty would cure me. How can I not love this guy. Just as I'm writing this, he called. He just "buka puasa". Dear Allah, please bless him always and put him under your protection.
I slept the whole entire time after I reached home. No vomiting, thank God but my throat felt so dry and it hurt even when i swallowed my saliva. One of my client called today and he said i sounded terrible with my husky voice. Finish 2 bottles of mineral water. Hopefully tonight i will be okay as tomorrow will be my 2nd day of treatment. I really pray that this will be my last radiation. They will monitor for a year after this before they can declare that I am cancer free.

My new family member

Shall I say this is the continuation of the journal below. This journal is specially dedicated to my new family..Qel's parents.
Baba enjoying my cooking while Mak was peeling "temulawak" to eat as "ulam" and me...still in my pajamas. Just after cooking brunch. The only thing i havent done was baba's favourite "EllieCafe". I managed to even make baba loves spaghetti during my stay there.

This is Mak peeling "temulawak" to eat as "ulam". Tried it on the first day but just can't seem to like it but one thing...I brought back a lot to use it as my face mask. It look like kunyit but taste different.
Baba eating the nasi lemak I cooked. Simply love him. During my stay there, I just love listening to him reciting the Quran. Hehehe but when he teaches the neighborhood kids to read Quran, they better pay attention otherwise.....

Showing Baba some of my family pictures on my Lappy...

Qel just can't stop snapping candid pictures...at times feel like skinning him alive. Taking my pictures in my pajamas...GOSH!He is one crazy guy i must say

Some people call me "CRAZY"...and seriously I am proud to be called that and I am a "HIPPIE ECCENTRIC" and really happy being one. And even though I am crazy, I don't make a fool of myself like some people. LOL! I am crazy but harmless nut case..

Both muka tak mandi (we both woke up late after challenging each other with the pick up stick game- yeah at times we just acted like kids..but to some people who doesn't enjoy life will definitely say we are crazy but who cares....so what if we are crazy kan?kan?kan?)

I forgot what I was talking about but sure put a smile on Helmi's and mak's face....

A wonderful one week of my life

On Saturday 12th December, my 2 kids and me woke up really early as we had to catch a 9.30am train to Bukit Mertajam to spend our whole week at Qel's. Bought the ticket all the way to Butterworth actually but we stopped at BM because its nearer to Kulim. It was the kid's first long holiday with me. God has helped us a lot..I was kinda broke actually because this month there was a deduction of RM500++ for my kids insurance and on top of that on the 21st of December which is tomorrow i will have to go for another 5 more radiation treatment. The last radiation didn't get rid of the whole cancer.
My boss En Azli has "sedekah" me RM1,000.00 for my radiation(God bless him always) and Tuan Alwee has given the kids a couple of hundreds for their holiday(Allah blessed him too). Its all Allah's help and i can never thank Him enough. Took 2 weeks leave. First week was to spend my time with kids,Qel & family at Kulim and 2nd week will be one hell of week as i have to go for my treatment daily(Monday to Friday).
Train departed on time (09.30) to Butterworth. The kids were so excited as that was their first ride on a train. But only the first 2 hours..after that they started to get so restless and the question like "Are we there yet" was repeatedly asked. The train ride to Butterworth took us 8 hours. Should have bought the sinaran malam but the night before that i had to bake 100 chocolate muffins for a Christmas party.
So had no choice but to go early in the morning and the morning train has no bed.
At 4.30pm we reached BM.

Qel and his nephew Helmi were already there. They arrived at the train station just 5mins before our train arrived BM. I still had butterflies in my tummy and really felt that i was gonna poop butterflies anytime then and only this time my best friend Nini didn't follow me for this trip to calm me down. And to make double butterflies syndrome in my stomach, this time his mom too will be around. The last trip I came with Nini, there were only Helmi, Qel's dad and him. And it was only over the weekend that Nini and I were there but this time it was one whole week at Qel's house.
Finally at 5.15pm we reached Qel's house. We were greeted by the warmest smile of an elderly couple.(His mom and his dad). Put all our stuff in "our room" and we sat outside with Qel, Helmi and his parents. The kids took awhile to warm up as this is their first time meeting Qel & family.
The first day we rested. The kids slept early but Qel & me spent time together til 4.30am catching up on stuffs.
I am so blessed to be loved by his parents and they accepted me just like their very own daughter. The father (Baba) especially has shown me so much love and wants me to call him Baba instead of "pakcik"(uncle). I felt so overwhelmed by the treatment received from his whole family. We cooked together, laughed and joke alot. His parents are so loving and Helmi was funny too. They are just fun to be with and full of happiness in them. They have the simplest life but because there are so much love in their heart, that what makes them very pleasant to be with,That explained why Qel is such a loving and funny guy. The kids got along well and actually like him a lot.
When Allah sent Qel into my life, I knew things were gonna be so okay. I know that things arent always gonna be smooth but I know he is the right one for me. Spending the whole week at Kulim with him and his parents and nephew has given me the 1001 reasons to even want to spend my remaining life with him. He might not be the richest man on earth when it comes to material and financial but he and his family are the richest people when it comes to love, giving, respect and all the goodness anyone can offer. Not saying this because I am madly in love with him but its the truth and that's the reason why I am so head over heel for him. And i simply fall in love with his parents and nephew too. Just the perfect family....

The kids wanted so much to go to the beach so on Wednesday (5th day) we went to Pantai Bersih. Mom prepared "keropok ikan", bread with butter and jam, and also the fried meehoon i made earlier. Just after Asar prayer, we made a move. The kids were so excited and the joy on their faces can never be bought with any amount of money in the world.

I am so thankful to the Almighty for the most beautiful gift call "Life". No matter what I do and no matter how long i fast and pray, I can never repay Him for the blessing He has bestowed upon me and my kids. Guess it's true, when you are patient with all His test, you will be rewarded with His blessing dunia akhirat.

Finally the time has come for me and the kids to go back to KL. The kids requested that we take a bus instead of a train. They wanted to experience the bus ride instead. Bought a ticket to KL which departed on Friday midnight. Wanted to stay longer but i have to work on Sunday and on top of that Monday 21st, i have my treatment to go to. The bus arrived Pudu at 5am on Saturday and my best friend Nini came to pick us up at Pudu Raya Bus Station. On the way back we stop at Mc D to have our breakfast. We were the only at McD as it was only 6am. Thank you Allah for the trip and the gift called "LIFE".

Papa and daughters day out

Today, took papa to KL to meet my sister for lunch. Had lunch at Tempayaki Pavillion. Mind you, its not Mr Tempayaki but TEMPAYAKI. The food is simply delicious, yummy yummy yummy. Just the 3 of us, papa and her 2 daughter(the sane and the insane one- me the insane one of course). Papa really enjoyed his Lamb Chilli with Garlic and my sister and me had Beef Chilli and Garlic. Cant believe it, but I had 2 bowl of rice.
After our meal, we took papa to Starbucks also located at The Pavillion. Papa suddenly told us, "It was just yesterday i told myself that i feel like having coffee at Starbucks"...So I told him, The Almighty has granted your wish pop!

Im so glad God has given me the most wonderful life anyone could ever ask for. No matter who tried to hurt me, it has no effect on me because it only be a waste of time. Life is too short to be bitter and be angry.
And having the sickness is actually a privileged. When one is not sick, they tend to forget to appreciate life. I was once that way. I take things for granted even though i know every one dies. But ever since being sick, i know i have a time bomb inside of me. Clock is ticking every second of my life. Therefore, I learn to appreciate the littlest thing in life. i.e when Im stuck in a traffic jam, I would look at the surrounding and appreciate the landscape, look at every single thing my eyes can see, because someday when Im gone, i will be at a different world. So enjoy life and at the same time perform what is required by Him...life can never be greater.
Now i have a wonderful family(my dad, my sibblings, my kids), my best friend Nini, Fahmy, Tokwan, Ariff,Ain, Rahmat, and now I have a very very very special person, Qel who has been very supportive and accepted me with the whole package- my sickness, my craziness and my 2 kids...
Thank YOu Allah for the life You has given me....can thank you enough..Luv u always, my Lord!

Today from 09.00am -17.00pm I was at *** (one of the government agency) for the cable installation. Was really a tiring day having to climb from one floor to one floor and with my lappy bag on my back all the time. Started from the North Wing ground floor then to South wing ground floor. Ground floor to 2nd floor and finally to 3rd floor..oh then back to "N*** room" which was located at the North wing.
I dont know what is wrong with *** security guard but the pass she gave me can't seem to open any of those doors on that block and that made our job difficult as I had to look for any of the staff there to asked to open doors. Then the light bulb appear.."TinK"..idea came. I told those guys to wait while i ran to 3rd floor to borrow Kak Siti's pass.
8 hours i was there, i was so 'flabbergasted'. I mean every week at least twice i have to go to *** but just never get the chance to actually observe people there. Today, i was there for 8 hours...i see how people at this agency work. This is like during office hours ni, these 2 ladies sat at the stair case gossiping for hours and I mean really hours. I dunno how many times i had to go up using that stair case but each time i used that stair case, they were still there.
Then i sat at the place where i had to install the work station and where i put the server...all the ladies there seem to be relaxing, jalan-jalan cari makan, gossiping, and some even take a nap. Really really flabbergasted with what I saw today. And they get bonus, pay increment like every year. WOW! Now i know why many people want to go into the government sector. 4.30pm everyone will be rushing to the punch card machine and "geduuung".punching their card.. I wonder if ever a minute that came across their mind that the money get every month on the 21st will be used to put the food on the table for the family?
About 17.00hrs finally the guys finished with the installation. Packed everything and made a move. It started to rain so heavily as if the whole Klang Valley was gonna be wiped out. The sky was so dark and heavy black clouds and down pour. Got stuck on the highway and by the time i reached Subang it was 18.20pm so i decided to just go home to pick up the kids for a happy meal at McD.
Had the happy meal at Mc D and went home just in time for Maghrib. After Maghrib, just knocked out. Guess must be tired because yesterday i got back from work at 7am (22 hours working straight) and by 11.45am back to the office and today another early start.
At 8pm, my phone rang..was still in my deep sleep but managed to wake up in time to answer the call from Tuan Alwee. Wanted to go back to sleep but somehow couldnt. Dont know why, i got up, climbed my bed and opened my top closet where i called "My treasure spot". Took out one of the box. Sat on my bed and slowly i opened it. Found all the old letters..first one i found was the letter from my ex husband when he first made a confession about his feelings. I read one by one and wonder where that person he used to be gone to. Then i found one big envelope, opened it and this time it was from my ex fiance. The big envelope has got all the cards he gave me and i found one letter..a long one. An apology letter telling how much he was sorry for hurting me and beating me.
I just had to keep back everything when i started to feel kinda melancholic. Put back the box in my treasure closet and wish i hadn't opened it in the first place coz then i wont be feeling like this.Ooouuch!

Do Not Expect Gratitude from anyone

Really love this book "Don't Be Sad". Each Chapter I read is giving me all the answers to my personal questions during my private moment with The One . And each chapter when is read carefully with an open heart and understanding and accepting our own weaknesses, it will make us a better person. And now it also gives me the answer to all the test( or rather to some they call it "Issues" and "Dramas" of life)that I have to go through.
Now that I am able to see things clearly, things are actually better now for me. I always believe that He will take something or someone or some people that we care for because He wants to replace with something or someone or new group of people that will make your life even better and even more beautiful than before.
Yesterday will never come back and tomorrow is not here YET. Live this moment and never procrastinate in telling those you care how much u love them and don't ever hurt someone ON PURPOSE. To tell someone you are sorry is one of the hardest thing to do but again NEVER procrastinate.

This is taken from Chapter 6:
Allah, the Almighty, created His slaves so that they may worship and remember Him, and He provided sustenance for them so that they may be grateful to Him. Nevertheless, many have worshipped other than Him and the masses are thankful not to Him, but to others, because the characteristic of ingratitude is widespread among human beings. So do not be dismayed when you find that others forget your favors or disregard your kind acts. Some people might even despise you and make you an enemy for no other reason than that you have shown them kindness.

And they could not find any cause to hear a grudge, except that Allah and His Messenger had enriched them of His Bounty. (Qur'an 9:74)

From among the ever-repeating pages of history is a story of a father and his son: the former raised him, fed him, clothed him and taught him; he would stay up nights so that his son could sleep, stay hungry so that his son could eat, and he would toil so that his son could feel comfort. And when the son became older and stronger, he rewarded his father with disobedience, disrespect, and contempt.

So be at peace if you are requited with ungratefulness for the good you have done. Rejoice in your knowledge that you will be rewarded from the One Who has unlimited treasures at His disposal.

This is not to say that you should refrain from performing acts of kindness towards others: the point is that you should be mentally prepared for ingratitude.

Perform acts of charity seeking Allah's pleasure, because with this attitude you will assuredly be successful. The ungrateful person cannot really harm you: praise Allah that that person is the transgressor and that you are the obedient servant. Also, remember that the hand that gives is better than the hand that receives.

We feed you seeking Allah’s Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. (Qur'an 76: 9)

Many people are shocked at the nature of ingratitude in others, as though they had never come across this verse and others like it:

And when harm touches man, he invokes Us, lying down on his side, or sitting or standing. But when We have removed his harm from him, he passes on his way as if he had never invoked Us for a harm that touched him? (Qur'an 10: 12)

Hence do not be in a state of agitation if you give someone a pen as a gift and he uses it to satirize you, or if you give someone a walking stick to lean upon and he strikes you with it. As I pointed out earlier, most human beings are ungrateful to their Lord, so what treatment should you and I expect?
